Get Involved!

I'm coming in to my Junior year now and last year almost seems like a blur. Between lacrosse practice, sorority events, internships, project research, and, oh, yeah, school, my sophomore year was one big balancing act. During orientation week, the Orientation Assistants always encourage you to get involved, make the most out of your time here at Chapman, be active! There is no doubt that Chapman is full of involved individuals, but there comes a point where you have to stop and look at how much you are taking on and see if it might possibly be a little too much, perhaps? It is only the fifth week of school and I have already found myself running from one thing to another, non-stop, waiting for my day to end so that I could just go home and maybe relax a little before hitting the books. So my advice is the following: Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and get involved, you will definitely gain so much out of it, but at the same time, don't feel like you have to take on everything all at once because you will wear yourself out. Stay balanced and give yourself some "me" time. I don't mean to sound preachy, I just wanted to give a little shout-out to my over-involved and enthusiastic fellow Panthers out there. Keep calm and carry on.
